Delivery Driver-Millwork

BMC is one of the largest providers of residential building materials and targeted construction services in the United States.
We are currently hiring a Millwork Delivery Driver at our facility in Orem, UT.
Operate a gas or diesel powered 2 or 3 axle truck over 26,000 GVW, or may drive trucks rated at less than 26,000 GVW.
Interact regularly with customers at all levels, including management and employees.
Ensure the safe loading, handling, and transportation of a variety of materials and heavy cargo.
Maintain logs and records according to D.O.T. regulations.
Drive truck to a destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
Deliver material to destination, ensure materials are unloaded properly, and complete the paperwork. Relay customer questions or complaints to the supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining vehicle in safe operating condition. Inspect the truck for any defects or problems which might arise before or after trips. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Maintain a clean truck. Report problems to the supervisor.
Load and unload trucks or build loads.
Position blocks and tie down load to secure the cargo during transit.
Assist in yard housekeeping and yard safety.
Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participate as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change.
Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
