Purchasing Agent

The purchasing agent is responsible for all aspects of procurement. The purchasing agent works with vendors to assure continuous supply of materials to production and to obtain high quality raw materials that meet the bakery's specifications at the lowest price. The purchasing manages inventory levels and coordinates with production, logistics and accounting to make sure the supply chain within the organization run smoothly and is recorded properly.

Responsibilities
Purchase ingredients, packaging, labels, films, and other items needed in bakery production
Source, validate, and partner with supplier network to achieve objectives
Manage inventory levels and maintain organization system for all raw materials
Enter purchase contract when advantageous
Drive cost improvements in purchasing through negotiation, purchasing strategies, vendor partnering as well as inventory control
Maintain weekly purchasing plan of POs and inventory levels that is coordinated with production needs.
Keep organized records of activity

Job Requirements
At least five years of purchasing experience. Experience in food or beverage industry strongly preferred.
Familiar with commodity markets (sugar, wheat, oil)
Ability to work with vendors to create solutions
Action-oriented, problem-solver; resourceful
Deep understanding of total economics of purchasing function
Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Quickbooks)
Four-year accredited degree.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
