Project Engineer Intern - Construction

Westland Construction, Inc. is an established and growing commercial general contractor performing work in both the private and public sectors. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer Intern to join our professional team.
Primary Functions:
o Support International work job specific requirements as assigned.
o Measure, track and review percent complete by trade for assigned projects.
o Prepare and help develop timely weekly reports.
o Communication with Subcontractors regarding past and future performance.
o Participate and contribute to weekly reporting requirements in OAC meetings.
o Preparing complete, accurate and timely submittal logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications.
o Other duties as needed and assigned.
Preferred candidates will have knowledge of some or all of the following:
o Use a personal computer and software (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam)
o Exercise professional judgment within general policy guidelines.
o Maintain an organized work area and accessible working files.
o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties and to work as a team member on a number of project groups.
o Work under deadlines and coordinate several concurrent deadlines.
o Accept supervision and adjust to changes in work priorities as determined by altered priorities.
o Pursuing Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from accredited University Construction Management degree with less than 1 - 2 years remaining in program.
o Construction experience is preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
