Summary of Duties
Capitol Reef Field Station (CRFS ) is located within Capitol Reef National Park
and functions as an education and research center under the direction of Utah
Valley University (UVU ) in partnership with Capitol Reef National Park. The Assistant Site Manager works alongside the Site Manager and also independently oversees groups at CRFS on an as needed basis when the Site Manager is unavailable. The Assistant Site Manager provides groups with an orientation that emphasizes safety, park and station rules, conservation, and natural history of the Colorado Plateau. This position manages check-in and check-out to ensure all policies and procedures are followed and a high standard of cleanliness is maintained. The Assistant Site Manager collects and records visitation data, maintains good relationships with National Park staff and the University community. Further, the Assistant Site Manager maintains the integrity of the site and monitors equipment. This position reports directly to the CRFS Director and is a UVU employee. The Assistant Site Manager works about 28 hours per month with additional hours during the field station's busy season (spring and fall).
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
Preferred Qualifications
Education or experience in Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, or related areas.
Knowledge
Knowledge of the natural history of the Colorado Plateau.
Knowledge of the National Park System and its mission.
Knowledge of environmental health and safety policies, both generally and specific to natural hazards of remote areas.
Skills
Demonstrated skills in providing group orientations that are both educational and engaging.
Skills in implementing policies and procedures.
Well-versed in computer technology such as e-mail, word-processing, and spreadsheet/database management.
Abilities
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of people.
Demonstrated ability to communicate at an effective and professional level, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and without immediate supervision and also as a member of a team.
Ability to be flexible in regards to work schedule and hours. Available, especially on weekends.
Ability to work and live in an isolated environment where conditions may vary.
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor including using a ladder, tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to carry out minor facility maintenance.
Ability to maintain a valid driver s license.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
